ABSTRACT:
This article illustrates the roles of hybrid animals in the lives and adventures of Greek heroes. A hybrid is a composite of two or more species of animal and/or human. For example, the centaur has the torso of a human and the body of a horse. Sirens are women with bird-like bodies. These animals represent evil forces in nature or the dark side of human beings. However, virtue represented by human beings can defeat evil.
