บทคัดย่อ:

บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาโลกทัศน์ของคนเขมรที่มีต่อผู้ชายและผู้หญิง โดยการศึกษาจากภาษิตเขมรที่รวบรวมได้ทั้งหมดจำนวน800ภาษิต ผลการศึกษาพบว่าสังคมเขมรมีความคาดหวังให้ผู้ชายเป็นผู้นำสังคม เป็นผู้นำในการประกอบอาชีพ ผู้ชายจึงควรได้รับการศึกษา มีความกล้าหาญ ขยันหมั่นเพียร ส่วนโลกทัศน์ต่อผู้หญิงพบว่า สังคมเขมรมีความคาดหวังต่อผู้หญิงสูงมาก ผู้หญิงต้องมีคุณสมบัติและมีความสามารถในการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ในฐานะลูก ฐานะภรรยาและในฐานะแม่ ตลอดจนเป็นผู้กำหนดฐานะและอนาคตของบุคคลในครอบครัว ผู้หญิงจึงได้รับการปลูกฝังให้มีความรู้ความสามารถและต้องประพฤติปฏิบัติตนอยู่ภายใต้กรอบที่สังคมกำหนดอย่างเคร่งครัด ตั้งแต่ยังเป็นเด็ก เพื่อจะได้ทำหน้าที่ได้ดีและสมบูรณ์ที่สุดเมื่อเติบโตเป็นผู้ใหญ่

ABSTRACT:

The articles aims to understand the Khmer’s view towards men and women by studying 800 Khmer proverbs. It can be concluded from the findings that Khmer society expects men to be leaders. Therefore, they should be literates, courageous and industrious. On the other hand, more is expected from women. They must have the ability to fulfill their duties as daughter, wife and mother. Women must be the people who plan the future of each family member. Thus, they are trained to be versatile and are supposed to strictly follow the social criterion during childhood in order to perform their duties perfectly when they reach adulthood.
