บทคัดย่อ:

บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อนำเสนอคำอ่านจารึกที่ฐานพระโมคคัลลานะและพระสารีบุตร วัดพระแก้ว จังหวัดเชียงราย ซึ่งเป็นจารึกในกลุ่มจารึกของพญามังพละสแพกและนางบุษบาสิริวัฒนเทพาราชกัญญา ผู้เขียนใช้ข้อมูลจากกลุ่มจารึกมังพละสแพกเพื่อเสนอข้อสังเกตเกี่ยวกับธรรมเนียมการจารึก ผลจากการศึกษาพบว่าชื่อบุคคลสำคัญที่ปรากฏเป็นลำดับแรกในจารึกเป็นเพียงการยกย่องให้เกียรติ ไม่ใช่เพื่อบ่งบอกว่าบุคคลนั้นเป็นเจ้าศรัทธาหรือเป็นผู้ประกอบกิริยาบุญนั้น ข้อสังเกตประการนี้เป็นกรณีตัวอย่างว่าควรมีการตีความจารึกอย่างระมัดระวังประการต่อมาคือศึกษาสารัตถะเกี่ยวกับการตั้งความปราถนาซึ่งพบว่าผู้ทำบุญมีความปรารถนาให้ตนเองได้รับความสุขทางโลกและปรารถนาพระนิพพาน ประการสุดท้ายผู้เขียนเสนอว่าการสิ้นพระชนม์ของพระยอดงำเมืองควรจะเป็นก่อนแรม 13 ค่ำเดือนมกราคม พ.ศ.2269 ไม่ใช่ พ.ศ.2271

ABSTRACT:

This article aims to present the researcher’s observations on a Buddhist disciples’ inscription, which is at the base of the Prasariputra and Pramoggallana, Phra Kaew temple, Chiang Rai province. This inscription is in the Mangpalasapaek and Puspasiriwattanadevarajakanya’s group of inscriptions. 
The findings were as follows: (1) The first name, which appears in the inscription, is for giving an honor to the person, rather than implying that the person donated money or made a merit, therefore the content in the inscriptions must be carefully interpreted. (2) The essence of desire, the donors wanted to get worldly pleasures and wishes Nirvana finally. (3) The death of Lord “Pra Yod Ngam Moeng” should be January B.E. 2269 Year not B.E. 2271.
