บทคัดย่อ:

บันทึกประจำวันเป็นวรรณกรรมที่มีเนื้อหาเป็นเรื่องส่วนบุคคล  ผู้เขียนร้อยเรียงขึ้นเพื่อแสดงเหตุการณ์หรือเรื่องราวตามทรรศนะของตน  วรรณกรรมประเภทนี้แม้จะนำเสนออย่างเป็นอัตวิสัย แต่เนื้อความบางตอนก็มีแง่คิดมุมมองที่น่าสนใจ และบางตอนอาจพบได้ยากจากข้อเขียนประเภทอื่น   ในทางวิชาการ ข้อมูลในบันทึกอาจช่วยให้เห็นภาพสังคมในขณะนั้น หรือช่วยเติมเต็มเรื่องราวทางประวัติศาสตร์ได้   ส่วนในทางวรรณกรรม งานเขียนประเภทนี้จัดอยู่ในวรรณกรรมอัตชีวประวัติซึ่งเป็นสารคดีชีวิตบุคคลที่ช่วยให้ผู้อ่านได้เห็นบุคลิกภาพของผู้เขียน ได้เรียนรู้และเข้าใจทรรศนะที่ผู้เขียนมีต่อเรื่องราวและประสบการณ์ชีวิต   ราชาภิเษกพระเจ้ากรุงสเปนเป็นพระราชบันทึกของพระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวที่มีคุณค่าทั้งในฐานะเป็นบันทึกเรื่องราวทางประวัติศาสตร์และเป็นสื่อสะท้อนพระบุคลิกภาพขององค์ผู้ทรงพระราชนิพนธ์

ABSTRACT:

A diary is a form of literature whose contents concern personal accounts of its author in a way that expresses the author’s view about certain events or stories.  Although its contents are presented in a subjective way, some of them have interesting subjects rarely found in other kinds of writing.  Academically, a record of the person who witnessed an  event can reflect the social context of the time or become a jigsaw piece that helps complete the history.  In literary studies, a diary is categorized in the genre of autobiography, a non-fictive account of a person’s life, that makes the reader recognize the author’s personality and gives an insight into the author’s view of his/her life experience.  The Spanish Coronation, a diary written by King Rama VI, is worthy of consideration for its historical records and reflection of the author’s personality.
