บทคัดย่อ:

การศึกษาครั้งนี้ผู้ศึกษาได้กำหนดลักษณะเฉพาะของกลุ่มพระพุทธรูปที่พบบริเวณเมืองโบราณ ชื่อ “เมืองเทิง” จำนวน 9 รายการ จัดเป็นกลุ่มสกุลช่างเทิง เนื่องจากมีลักษณะเฉพาะทางศิลปะที่โดดเด่น เช่น พระพักตร์ หรืองานประดับตกแต่งส่วนฐาน จากการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบรูปแบบศิลปกรรม สันนิษฐานว่าสกุลช่างเทิงสร้างงานในราวพุทธศตวรรษที่ 21 โดยได้แรงบันดาลใจในการสร้างงานจากพระพุทธรูปสกุลช่างหลวงสมัยพระเมืองแก้ว

ABSTRACT:

This study researches nine divine Buddha images which were found in the ancient (and now deserted) town of Muang Thoeng, The Buddha images are said to be of the Thoeng School due to their prominent facial and base adornments. Their patterns are believed to have derived inspiration from Buddha images of the Phra Muang Khaew period. Phra Muang Khaew became the Lãn-Nãaround the 16th century, thus from comparative studies the Thoeng School Buddha images can also be dated the 16th century.
