บทคัดย่อ:

ในปีงบประมาณ 2558 อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์กำแพงเพชรดำเนินโครงการขุดแต่งและออกแบบเพื่อการบูรณะโบราณสถานวัดมะคอกซึ่งเป็นวัดที่ตั้งอยู่ในเขตอรัญญิกเมืองกำแพงเพชร ภายในวัดประกอบด้วยสิ่งก่อสร้างต่างๆที่มีขนาดเล็ก ที่สำคัญได้แก่ เจดีย์ประธาน เจดีย์ราย ศาลา กุฏิ บ่อน้ำและห้องส้วมสำหรับพระสงฆ์ ซึ่งวิหารวัดมะคอกเป็นวิหารที่ไม่พบร่องรอยการก่อศิลาแลงเป็นฐานวิหาร ส่วนโบราณวัตถุที่พบจากการดำเนินงาน ได้แก่ เศษภาชนะดินเผาจากแหล่งเตาพื้นเมือง เตาสุโขทัย เตาศรีสัชนาลัย แหล่งเตาจากประเทศจีนสมัยราชวงศ์หมิง นอกจากนี้ยังพบเศษกระเบื้องมุงหลังคา เศษปูนปั้น เศษพระพุทธรูปปูนปั้นและสำริด หลักฐานที่น่าสนใจอีกประเภท คือ เศษพระพุทธรูปที่สลักจากหินสีขาวใสที่สันนิษฐานว่ามาจากทางวัฒนธรรมล้านนา จากหลักฐานทั้งหมดสันนิษฐานว่าวัดมะคอกมีการใช้พื้นที่ของวัดในช่วงพุทธศตวรรษที่ 20 – 22 เป็นช่วงที่เมืองกำแพงเพชรมีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองมากที่สุด

ABSTRACT:

In the year 2015, Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park launchedan excavation and restoration project at Makhok Temple, located in the Aranyik area of the ancient Kamphaeng Phet Town. On the temple grounds are located many constructions, such as the main stupa, the surrounding stupas, a pavilion or “sala,” the monks’ cells and toilets, and a pond. Artifacts discovered during the excavation include potsherds from local Sukhothai kilns, Ming blue and white wares from Chinese kilns, and stucco fragments of Buddha images. The most interesting artifact is a fragment of Buddha image made of clear white stone, presumably in Lanna style. All the artifacts demonstrate that the temple grounds were actively used between the 20th – 22nd centuries of the Buddhist Era, the time when Kamphaeng Phet Town fully prospered.
